Manjadikuru

Last Sunday, I thought of cleaning up my wardrobe and shelves to arrange the stuff that I had dumped into my new home, after we moved in here some time back. As I was going through my old albums, note books, slam books etc., my gaze went upon a box - a sort of a wooden box. I thought it had some carom coins or pegs of my old games in it and I eagerly took it. I opened it with great struggle and to my surprise, it was none of them. It was those beautiful red seeds, I exclaimed, “Ah, there it is!”. The box was full of Manjadikuru ( Sircassian seeds) which I had collected (a lot of them actually!) from Kerala when I was in 2nd or 3rd standard during my vacation there, I suppose. I was happy, too happy! I was overwhelmed. Well, that was quite weird. Just like the Malayalam movie “Manjadikuru” that talks about nostalgia, I too was taken aback, looking at the handful of manjadikuru and my eyes welled up with tears. A Mere Battle...

It's repeating again, All again from the square one. I wish if it was only a Dejavu, But I am afraid, it's not! Each step is a dilemma, Uncertain of the uncertainties, Here I am perplexed all alone. My heart skips a beat and jumps back with fear When the untold stories repeats, Repeats, right in front of my pupil! Afraid if I would fall into the dungeons again, Decisions seem tough While the options seem invisible. It's a battle between me and the courage. Let me gather my armour, And strength to hold me back if I stumble upon! #incomplete… :)

Lullabies

Amid the chaos of 'being adult' Between those petty panic attacks Of dilemmas in career and responsibilities, Busy chasing something Not knowing answers to what and why. I miss those lullabies, I miss those bed time stories. The now insomniac nights Of works and taut, Of solitude and insecurities Makes the bits and pieces Of my beating and bleeding heart, Take a leap aback To then peaceful nights Of rockers and lullabies, Of merry and bedtime stories! I miss those bed time stories, I miss those lullabies! Then, I slept off Just tired of playing. Now, I stare the bare wall Just tired of hunting sleep. Then, the must were Papa's never ending bedtime stories When I plead, "One more, please... " And Mom's lullabies, the best remedy to all sorts. Now, the must include few sleeping pills. Oh! I never knew then Life would take turns, Won't offer a time-machine even! Yes, I miss those bed time stories, I miss those lullabies! ...
